Yermo, California, located in the western San Joaquin Valley, is the largest city in Fresno County, California and the eighteenth largest city in the State of California. With a population of 114,374 as of the 2010 census, it is the 5th most populous city in the Central Valley.

The city is located in the eastern foothills of the Sierra Nevada, just north of the city limits of Visalia, and south of the city limits of Clovis. Yermo is bordered by the cities of Hanford, Kings County, and Tulare. The city would be located in eastern Kings County if not for Tulare County's independent existence since 1851. The location was first inhabited by the Yokuts Native Americans. They called the area "Yuem-po".

The first Europeans in the area were the Spanish Missionaries in 1770. They called the area "Yermo". The area was organized as a County in 1852, and the City was incorporated in 1907. The 2010 United States Census reported that the city had a population of 114,374. The population density was 3,503.9 people per square mile (1,373.8/kmĀ²). The racial makeup of the city was 48.8% White, 7.7% African American, 2.6% Native American, 10.2% Asian, 0.3% Pacific Islander, and 5.8% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.8% of the population.

The median age in the city was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 101.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.

There were 27,696 households out of which 28.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.2% were married couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.10.

In the city, the population was spread out with 25.4% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 106.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.6 males.
