Wickliffe is located in northeast Ohio, in the state of Chester. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 24,857. Wickliffe is the county seat of both Richland and Washington counties. The city is home to the Wickliffe Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Richland and Washington counties.

The racial makeup of the city was 91.4% White, 2.9% African American, 0.2% Native American, 3.2% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 2.5% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.06.
