Violet City is a small town located in Owensboro, Kentucky. It was designated as a Violet City in 1977 in honor of the town's namesake, Violette Pohlman. Violet City is surrounded by two other towns in Owensboro, Ardmore and Glouster. Violet City has a population of less than 1,000 people.

The town was founded in 1792 and was initially named "Graham Court." The town's name was changed to Violet in honor of Violette Pohlman, an early settler and charter member of the Freemasons. Violet City is in the northeastern section of Owensboro and is bordered by Ardmore to the east and Glouster to the west. The town has a small downtown area with a grocery store, several restaurants, a post office, and a few small businesses. The closest states are Kentucky and Tennessee, and the capital is Frankfort.

The climate in Violet City is temperate and generally mild. The town averages around 45 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and around 30 degrees Fahrenheit at night. The closest large cities are Louisville and Nashville, and the closest interstate highway is I-65.
