The city is located in the far eastern region of the state, just northeast of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Stanfordville is bordered by the town of Quakertown to the south, Chester to the south and east, and the town of Newtown to the north.

Stanfordville is located at 38°54′32″N 75°14′36″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles, all of it land. The city is located in the Poconos Mountains, and as a result, experiences a temperate climate with moderate precipitation.

As of the census of 2010, there were 6,512 people, 2,326 households, and 1,630 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,724.6 people per square mile. There were 2,584 housing units at an average density of 859.5 per square mile. The racial makeup of the city was 96.5% White, 0.5% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.4% of the population.

The city has a population of below 6,500 people, which makes it the most populous city in Bucks County. The median household income was $75,038 and the median family income was $84,923.
