Sabana Seca is a very small, unincorporated town located in the southwestern corner of New Mexico, in Costilla County. Situated at an elevation of 4,834 feet above sea level, it has a population of just over 200 and is the only town in Costilla County. Sabana Seca is located 27 miles south of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and 95 miles southwest of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The town is best known for its Seca Hot Springs, which are a natural therapeutic hot spring located in the east side of town. The springs are open for day use from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and overnight use from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The grounds are open for picnicking and are handicap accessible. The springs are also available for private use.

Sabana Seca is located in the southern portion of the Gila Wilderness, and is home to a number of small, private parks. The largest of these is Seca Park, which covers more than 1,000 acres. There are also a number of small Native American tribal reservations located in the vicinity of Sabana Seca.

The climate in Sabana Seca is essentially Mediterranean, with cool, damp summers and mild, pleasant winters. While the town has a small commercial center, it is primarily a tourist town, largely dependent on the tourism generated by the Seca Hot Springs.
