The racial makeup of the city was 72.1% White, 23.9% African American, 0.4% Native American, 2.4% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.9% from other races, and 2.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.4% of the population.
The median age in the city was 38.5 years. 18.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 11.1% from 18 to 24, 33.8% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 49.3% male and 50.7% female.
