Rollins is a medium-sized city located in northern Virginia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 34,399. The city is named for General William H. Rollins, a veteran of the American Civil War.

Rollins is located at 38°54′N 77°03′W.

Rollins experiences a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cool, drier winters.

Federally, Rollins is in the Northern Virginia Federal Federal District. Virginia has two state capital, Richmond and Vienna.

As of the census of 2010, there were 34,399 people residing in the city. The population density was 1,504.2 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the city was 72.1% White, 23.9% African American, 0.4% Native American, 2.4% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.9% from other races, and 2.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.4% of the population.

The median age in the city was 38.5 years. 18.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 11.1% from 18 to 24, 33.8% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 49.3% male and 50.7% female.

The Rollins economy is based on several regional industries: health care, food processing, information technology, and automotive manufacturing.

The city is served by the Northern Virginia Community College System.

Rollins is located at the intersection of Interstates 95 and 81 and U.S. Route 50, major north-south and east-west transportation routes.
