Olin is located at 38°28′N 98°4′W. The city has a total area of 2.75 square miles, of which 2.6 square miles is land and 0.25 square mile is water.

Olin is located in south central Kansas, in Brown County. The nearest cities are Pratt and Haysville, both located approximately 10 miles to the south. The capital of Kansas, Topeka, is approximately 75 miles to the east.
