Netawaka City, located in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa, is the administrative center of the Umgeni District Municipality. It is an agricultural and tertiary center in the eastern part of the province, with a population of 99,100 (2011 census).

The city lies approximately northeast of Durban, the provincial capital, and east of Pietermaritzburg, the provincial capital. Slightly inland from the Indian Ocean, it lies in a wide, fertile valley, bounded by mountains on the north, northeast and east.

The Umgeni River originates in the Umgeni Mountains and flows through Netawaka before emptying into the Indian Ocean. It provides irrigation water for the surrounding farmland.
