Naknek, Alaska is an Incorporated town located on the Naknek River about halfway between Anchorage, Alaska and McGrath, Alaska. The population was 1,476 at the 2010 census.

Naknek experiences a subarctic climate (Köppen "Dfc") with long, bitterly cold winters and short summers. The daily mean temperature ranges from −24°F (−31°C) in January to 27°F (13°C) in July. Precipitation averages 44 inches (113 cm) a year with 58% falling during winter.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,382 people, 552 households, and 356 families residing in the town. The population density was 15.1 people per square mile (5.8/km²). There were 1,990 housing units at an average density of 16.9 per square mile (6.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 95.98% White, 0.40% Native American, 1.15% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.90% from other races, and 2.43% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.86% of the population.

There were 552 households out of which 31.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% were non-families. 24.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.94.

In the town, the population was spread out with 26.5% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 27.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.3 males.
