The city is accessible by Highway 99, which runs north-south, and Highway 140, which runs east-west. Mariposa is served by several local bus lines as well as Amtrak. The closest airports are in Fresno and Sacramento. Several forms of transportation are available to commuters in Mariposa, including bicycling, walking, cars, and the California Central Valley Rail Transit.
