Lahaska, Illinois is a city located in McHenry County, Illinois. It is the principal city of the Lahaska Micropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of 53,818 as of the 2010 census. The city is located adjacent to the northwest shore of the Mississippi River, approximately 47 miles west of Chicago. The city is named for the Sauk and Fox Nation of Native Americans who formerly inhabited the area.

Lahaska is located at 41°8′N 88°35′W (41.1255°N, 88.5788°W). The city is bordered by Crystal Lake to the north, unincorporated communities including Hanover, Ridge and Pleasant View to the east, unincorporated communities including Opdyke and Gardner to the southeast, unincorporated communities including Woodstock, Mendon and Yorkville to the south, and unincorporated communities including Arlington Heights and Barrington to the west.

According to the 2010 census, the city has a total area of 7.47 square miles (19.31 km2), all land.
