Kenvir, is a city located in the Tigris Governorate in south-central Iraq. It has an estimated population of 98,000. The city lies 654 km south-east of Baghdad, 377 km south-west of Basra, and 111 km south-east of Tikrit. The nearest states and capitals are Baghdad (661 km), Basra (373 km), and Samarra (197 km).

The Tigris Governorate is one of the eighteen governorates of Iraq. It comprises an area of 1,610 kmĀ² and has a population of 1,906,483 as of the 2006 census. Its capital is the city of Tikrit. The governorate is subdivided into thirty-six districts.

Kenvir is located in a fertile area, with considerable agricultural production. The climate is warm and relatively dry, with a hot and humid summer season and a colder, wetter winter season.
