Goliad is a small city located in Hays County, Texas, just north of the Mexican border. It is the county seat of Hays County and the most populous city of the Goliad metropolitan statistical area, which has a population of 106,840 residents as of the 2010 census. Goliad is situated at 28°12′N 99°05′W, approximately 150 miles northwest of San Antonio and 45 miles east of Temple.

Goliad is known for its history, as it was the site of the Battle of the Alamo, which ended in the deaths of more than 300 Texians, including Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie. The city is also home to the Goliad County Historical Museum, which displays artifacts from the Battle of the Alamo and from the early history of the Hays County area.
