East Bloomfield is a city located in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 21,521. It is the county seat of Oakland County.

East Bloomfield was founded in 1827 as a stop on the Bloomfield Trail, a logging railroad linking the Michigan Central Railroad at Pontiac to the Michigan Southern Railroad at Pruntytown. The city was named for General Leonard Bloomfield, who served in the War of 1812.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. U.S. Route 10 and Interstate 94 run through the city.

There were 6,623 households out of which 36.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.9% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% were non-families. 22.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.22.
