Today, Dow City is home to several businesses, including a regional headquarters for Quicken Loans, a regional insurance company, a regional bank, a regional trucking company, a regional furniture company, and several other local businesses.

Dow City is also home to the Dickinson County Courthouse, the Dickinson County Nursing Home, and Dow City Elementary School.
