Davisburg was first settled in 1838 and was originally named Mount Morris. In 1841, the town was renamed Davisburg in honor of Frederick Augustus Davis, a U.S. Representative from Ohio. The city's official founding date is July 1, 1881. Davisburg's population as of the 2010 Census was 5,595.
