Geography. Capron City is geologically younger than the rest of Iowa. The area wasCreated when glacial action left deposits of till, or undisturbed Earth, after the last great ice age. Streams have cut deeply into the till and in some places the surface is uneven.

Capron City is located at 41.403N,93.546W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.6 square miles, of which 2.5 square miles is land and 0.1 square mile is water.

The thermometer usually hangs out below freezing most days in winter and well into the-forties in summer. Clothing is a must if visiting in the colder months!

Climate. The continental U.S. Midwest has four seasons, though most of Iowa experiences a spring/summer temperature range of about 40 degrees. Winters are very cold in Iowa with temperatures often dipping into the twenties below zero. Precipitation is unpredictable, however, so always check the weather forecast before arrival to avoid anytraps!
