Located in Colorado's eastern plains, Brackenridge is a small city of about 5,000 people. It is located about midway between the two largest cities in Colorado, Denver and Colorado Springs. Brackenridge has a humid continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. It is also close to the New Mexico border.

The city's history begins in 1876, when settlers began to arrive in the area. The city was officially founded in 1912 and was named for Major General Edward M. Brackenridge, who had fought in the Mexican-American War. Brackenridge is home to the Brackenridge County Museum, which is dedicated to local history. The city is also home to the Brackenridge Eagles, a Junior "B" ice hockey team.

Brackenridge is located in northern Colorado on the eastern plains. It is bordered by the city of Delta to the north, the town of Monument to the east, the town of Windsor to the south, and the state of New Mexico to the west. The city of Delta is the countyseat of Brackenridge County.

From Denver, take I-25 east to Colorado Springs. Exit at Monument Rd. and drive south to Delta. From Delta, drive north on US-64 to the city of Brackenridge.
