Bowdle, also known as Saltville, is a city located in Warren County, Kentucky, about 50 miles south of Louisville. Bowdle was founded in 1792 and incorporated in 1887. The population was 2,166 at the 2010 census. Bowdle is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

Bowdle is located on the north side of the Ohio River, at the mouth of the Green River, in Warren County. Kentucky is to the east, Indiana to the northwest, and Tennessee to the south. Cincinnati is about 20 miles to the southeast.

Bowdle is located at (38.698403, -84.446708). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.4 kmĀ²), all of it land.

Bowdle experiences a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters. The average annual temperature is 53.4 degrees Fahrenheit (12 degrees Celsius). The all-time record high temperature was 111.6 degrees Fahrenheit (44 degrees Celsius), set in 1936 and the all-time record low temperature was 23.2 degrees Fahrenheit (-5 degrees Celsius), set in 1955. Bowdle is served by the Miami-Bowdle toll bridge on I-75. Interstate 71 passes just to the east of the city limits. The nearest airport is the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, about 25 miles to the east.

The economy of Bowdle is based primarily on agriculture, with production of tobacco, corn, soybeans, wheat, and cattle. Manufacturing is also a significant part of the economy, with production of clothing and agricultural machinery. The city is also home to the Kentucky Trucking Museum.

There are two hospitals in the city: Baptist Hospital and Riverside Hospital.
