Beatrice, Nebraska is a city in Douglas and Clay counties in the state of Nebraska. The city has a population of 37,375 residents, according to the 2010 census.

Beatrice is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 281 and Nebraska Highway 74, about southeast of Kearney and east of Columbus. Beatrice is about southeast of the state capital, Lincoln. The closest state capital is Omaha, about to the east.

Beatrice is located in the northeast Nebraska panhandle, in Douglas and Clay counties. The city is about 60 miles east of Omaha and about 285 miles northeast of Kansas City.

Beatrice has a total area of 6.9 square miles, including 5.7 square miles of land and 1.2 square miles of water. The city has a moderately flat topography, with no significant hills.

As of the census of 2010, there were 37,375 people, 15,206 households, and 10,601 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,630.1 people per square mile (627.6/km²). There were 16,543 housing units at an average density of 593.5 per square mile (227.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.5% White, 0.5% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.5% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.8% of the population.

There were 15,206 households of which 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.4% were married couples living together, 12.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.4% had a male householder with no wife present, and 32.0% were non-families. 26.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.05.

In the city, the population was spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.5 males.
