The east side of the city is home to the Marvin Center, a convention and exhibition center, and the Arrow Rock wastewater treatment plant. The west side of the city is largely residential and includes the city's downtown area.
Arrow Rock has a humid continental climate, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The city is just a few miles from the Indiana border, which brings an abundance of summertime weather changes.
