Ambler, Pennsylvania is a city located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, about midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. It is part of the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, Ambler had a population of 19,375. Ambler is located approximately six miles south of the central business district of Philadelphia and is adjacent to the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. The city is situated at the eastern edge of the ridge formed by the Lower Merion and Ardmore hills and overlooks the Delaware River. Ambler is centrally located within Pennsylvania and close to many state capitals. Ambler's topography is varied, with rolling hills and valleys on the city's south and east sides, while the north and west sides are sharply elevated. The city experiences a humid continental climate, with cold, moderately severe winters and hot, humid summers. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.8 square miles (14.4 km2), of which, 5.7 square miles (13.9 km2) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.3 km2) is water. Ambler is located at 41°58′N 75°12′W (41.9617°N - 75.2578°W).
